Idler Pulleys:
Idler pulleys are combined with engine configurations to alter belt tension without moving any accessories. The pulley may be mounted in a slotted bracket and the pulley slides in the slot when the attaching bolt is backed off. Other idler pulleys may be mounted to a plate that has a pivot point and a raised boss to pry against. Tension is set by relocating the pulley and tightening the attaching bolt, or bolts.
About Belt Tensioner Pulley :
The drive belt tension is made up of four main parts – the base, tensioner arm, spring and pulley. The base holds the other parts, and the spring keeps the belt pulled tight. The pulley is what facilitates movement of the belt.
If the pulley of the tensioner is wobbling, you can just replace the pulley on some vehicles. However, the tensioners come with a new pulley already installed, so it's worth the extra money to buy the complete unit, as the effort and time to replace the pulley or the tensioner is the same.
